Yume Nikki - Madotsuki - Colourful Nightmares

Happy Halloween !

A few years back i said to myself i would do some sort of grand " Yume Nikki " project, where i would try and draw all the Yume Nikki characters in my own style. Well after being in the " horror mood " i thought i would try and take up the project again ( From the Beginning ). For those of you who are unaware of what i am talking about:

Yume nikki ( Dream diary ) is a pyschological horror game created in RPG maker. The game revolves around a young girl named " Madostuki ". As the game begins you can only navigate around your small bedroom, but once you fall asleep the disturbing, horrific and frightening dreams of Madostuki come to life. The game is full of disturbing and scary imagery and has become a massive cult game world wide, with hundreds of different worlds to explore and many secrets and events to discover. This game has influenced me and inspired me like no other. So i have decided to do a project called " Yume nikki REBIRTH ". The project is to redraw/design all the characters and creatures in Yume nikki into my own unique style. And once i have finished i plan on combining all the characters together to create one giant collage like thing.

So first up i thought i would re-tackle the main protagonist Madotsuki. I thought this time round rather then focusing on the characters core colours i would stick to my old roots and do some traditional black and white imagery. Originally i did create this piece in colour but found it looked better in black and white, thus i kept the original title.
I am currently in the process of digitising " Masada ", i might just upload them all togerther in the future but i wanted to try and post at least Madotsuki for Halloween.

The entire piece was constructed in Adobe flash CS5.

I also cannot thank you all enough for supporting my last project so much, i hope to make this attempt to look much better !!
